“Our Community, Building a Community”

In October 2016, Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, R.S. Parker Builders, Anderson Brother’s Bank and Wellspring Church are teamed up to build two homes for two Horry County families.  “Our Community, Building a Community” was a partnership formed by the four organizations to further Habitat for Humanity’s mission that everyone should have a decent, safe, affordable place to live.  The two homes, Home #132 and Home #133, were constructed simultaneously by R.S. Parker Homes in the Habitat neighborhood of Village of Dreams.

“R.S. Parker Homes is excited to partner with Anderson Brothers Bank & Wellspring Church to build homes for two deserving families. We’ve been immensely blessed and are very grateful for this opportunity to give back to our community helping The Marques and Strickland families on their journey to homeownership,” stated a representative from R.S. Parker Homes.

Wellspring Church, who has been an avid supporter of Habitat was the organization that helped form the partnership. “At Wellspring Church we strive to be known for what we are for.  We are for Myrtle Beach and the families that live here. It’s an honor to partner with R.S. Parker Homes and Habitat for Humanity to provide homes for both of these deserving families!  This is truly an example of what a community can do together”, says Pastor Trey Kelly with Wellspring Church.

Anderson Brothers Bank was the final piece in making “Our Community, Building a Community” work and Bryan Lenertz, Vice President Horry County Executive for Anderson Brothers Bank states, “Anderson Brothers Bank is proud to partner with other local pillars in our community to provide quality homes for these two well-deserving families.  We’re looking forward to assisting in additional builds throughout the area and giving back to the communities we serve.”
