Volunteer Program

Volunteers are what enable non-profits like Habitat do what they do so well. Without Volunteerism, there would be no non-profits. And without non-profits, there would be little sense of change and urgency in the world.

If you're interested in volunteering, please head over to our volunteer application page for more information.

Family Services Program

Our family services program educates homeowners, allowing them to understand what it takes to be a quality, responsible, accountable homeowner in the United States today. From home repair classes to budgeting to education and awareness of predatory lenders, our Family Services Program is a tremendous asset to Habitat families and the community as a whole.

Once a family is selected into the program, they typically remain in it for two-to-four years while completing their necessary amount of 'sweat equity' (i.e. Habitat volunteering) hours. Once closing costs are paid and sweat equity is completed, the family is ready to find a sponsor for their home to be built.

If you have any questions about the Family Services program, or you would like to know how you can assist the program as a volunteer, please contact Eileen Cyrus, Director of Family Services.

Construction Program

When people think Habitat, they think homes being built. But we can't build those homes without sponsors, volunteers and in-kind donations. One of the greatest assets to Habitat is the donation of expertise and professional crafts. Whether you can donate electrical, plumbing, roofing, sheetrock or finishing services, Habitat can use your help! Such donations of services greatly reduce the costs of our builds, enabling us to build more homes at a higher quality!

If you can offer your professional services, or perhaps can donate new items that could be put toward building our homes (i.e. siding, roofing, doors, windows, etc.), please contact our Construction Manager, Keith Zielinski.

Or, if you'd simply like to find out what builds we have coming up, hop over to the Build portion of our site!

Deconstruction Program

Deconstructoin is an exciting new venture our Habitat affiliate has taken part in. In Deconstruction, we don't build things...we tear them down! Whether it be a business office, condo, hotel or home, our Decon Team heads into the location and takes whatever has been made available to them. This might include cabinetry, fixtures, windows, furniture, sinks, toilets, shower stalls and more.

The beauty about Decon is that it is truly a win-win situation. The owner gets a donation form for tax writeoff purposes for all of the items Habitat pulled out of the location; while Habitat gets items that it can either reuse in our homes or sell in our Habitat ReStore.

If you're interested in using Habitat's services, please contact Lucas Cline to schedule a walk through of your site.
