Building Homes in Partnership with God's People in Need

Ongoing Opportunities

Construction Volunteers

Recycling volunteers

  • Not everyone can swing a hammer, but EVERYONE can recycle!
  • Great opportunity for youth groups -- churches, schools, scouts!
  • Habitat for Humanity International has formed an alliance with The Aluminum Association (and its nearly 2200 nationwide recycling centers) to recycle aluminum cans to help build Habitat homes called the ACBHHH (Aluminum Cans Build Habitat for Humanity Homes).
  • Our local affiliate is looking for "Recycling Partners" to help build homes in our community. All recycling materials are free including: Recycling Containers, Garbage Bags, Posters, PSA's, and other promotional materials.
  • A recycling trailer is located at our Resale Store
  • Businesses/schools/churches/civic groups - please help us promote the ACBHHH program with bin placement.
  • We are looking for dedicated volunteers to:
    • Recruit recycling sites in Horry County
    • Publicize the recycling program to the community to create awareness
    • Organize a "truck run" to pick up cans collected throughout the community.

Resale Store
  • Habitat is looking for dedicated volunteers to help at our Resale Store during its hours of operation, assist customers, organize inventory & donation deliveries, clean -- sweep floors, dust merchandise, and general upkeep.
  • Volunteer truck driver and assistant needed to help with pickups of donations. Must have valid driver's license and the ability to lift and carry heavy items. One day a week would be a great help! (this is a small van-type truck)
  • A maintenance volunteer is needed 1-2x a week for minor repairs of furniture and appliances, getting items in resell condition
  • Greeter -- welcome customers as they enter the store and direct them to merchandise.

Family Partner
  • Mentor a Habitat Family as they prepare for home ownership.

    Next Partner Training Session:
Family Partner Orientation is TBA. Anyone who has an interest in learning more about possibly becoming a Family Partner is welcome. A Family Partner is a friend to a Habitat Family who is waiting for their house. Call Eileen or Marley at 916-8815 for more information.

Lunch Sponsors

  • Want to be popular? Provide lunch for volunteers. You can deliver it yourself or we are happy to pick it up!
  • Individuals, groups, and businesses are always welcome sponsors! This is a great opportunity for youth groups to visit the site. Contact Brandon Taylor Charpied for dates and numbers.
