Habitat is looking for four energetic and committed individuals for AmeriCorps Member positions.  These positions will begin late August/early September 2008 and will last 46 1/2 weeks (11 months).
 
The four positions we are taking applications for are:
  • Family Services Assistant
  • Volunteer Services Assistant / Youth Programs
  • Construction Crew Leader
  • Faith Relations Director

This is a volunteer position that is intended to offer the individual that we select a tremendous amount of work and life experience. A living allowance ($11,400), educational award ($4,725) and insurance are offered by AmeriCorps for each position.

Since 1994, Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps members have served 1.5 million hours and have worked alongside 300,000 Habitat volunteers to build more than 2,500 houses.

AmeriCorps members serve an 11-month term volunteering with a local Habitat affiliate. While in service, AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance and insurance. An education award is granted upon completion of a successful term of service. Opportunities are available to adults age 18 or older who possess a high school diploma or GED. Previous construction, community service and / or leadership experience is helpful but not required for acceptance into this program.
