Gail Olive retires after 14 years of service as Executive Director, Carla Schuessler named as her replacement!

Carla and Gail

August 29th marks the last day of employment for Gail Olive (right) as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County.  During the last 14 years, Gail has seen the agency grow from 1 full time staff person to nearly 20 and a significant outreach to hundreds of families and ninety-one homes have been completed during these 14 years.  To Gail this is more than a job, “I’ve invested a lot of myself over the years.  It has been the perfect job –combining my nonprofit experience and my Christian calling to serve others.”

Carla Schuessler (left) has been named by the board as the new Executive Director and will bring a fresh vision to Habitat’s housing mission,.  Carla has a background in property management, has served on the Habitat Board and has a deep commitment to give back and serve the community in a meaningful way.

As Gail retires and as Carla assumes leadership of Habitat, we wish them well.
