Welcome to HFH of Horry County
Habitat for Humanity of Horry County builds simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with those in need. The homes are then sold to those partners at no profit and with a no-interest mortgage. Habitat does NOT give houses away.
Volunteers provide most of the labor and individual, church, and corporate donors provide funding and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of sweat equity - building their own homes and homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund for Habitat and are used to build more houses in our community.
Locally, since 1991, Habitat for Humanity of Horry County has built 99 homes with partner families. We currently have over 30 families that have applied and been approved for our program and more families are waiting for the next home application opportunity.
Our affiliate can only continue to satisfy its mission of eliminating poverty housing in our community with your help though, so please volunteer your time and donate toward our mission as you can.
Habitat is supported by people in our community like you. Without your support, we cannot sustain our mission to eliminate poverty housing, so please consider us for your donations. |
Our Habitat affiliate develops our home owners by giving them two to four years worth of home owner classes and workshops, allowing them to know the ins and outs of home ownership prior to having their home built. |
Habitat's strategy to eliminate poverty housing is only possible through the support of our community members and through the development and education of our home owners. |
